John Schiavo Hockey

John Schiavo is a professional ice and inline hockey player who exemplifies integrity, work ethic & persistence in achieving his goals in the sport. His consistent kindness & generosity to those around him give us all a role model to look up to, both as a hockey player & a person. 

On the ice, John has played at the professional level since 2015. He debuted at Rookie camp for the NY Islanders for 2 consecutive years in 2015 and 2016. He has played in the minor pro system since 2015 and won the President's Cup with the Huntsville Havoc in 2019. 

In the professional inline world, John is known globally for his leadership and goal scoring during is more than a decade long career thus far. John has had the honor of playing with Team USA in the IIHF World Championship in 2017 and the World Roller Games World Championship in 2019. Both resulting in Gold Medal finishes for Team USA. 

John is also very well known for his trick shots, stadium shots and overall creativity with a stick and a puck. He believes that integrating creativity into training helps with hand eye coordination, learning angles and predictability of the puck and adds to the enjoyment of the game. 

In any spare time that John has, he enjoys coaching, working on gear and equipment and growing the GoodWood Hockey brand and working persistently on all of our efforts to grow the game.
